Sierra de Guara rises solemnly as you approach the Pyrenees in the north of Spain.<\/p>\n

This huge mountain range covers more than 80,000 hectares. Its strategic location gives it a unique climate that is influenced by both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The result of this is extensive traditional land use that goes back almost as far as humankind existence in this area.<\/p>\n

The confluence of factors \u2013 such as a mild climate, rich landscapes, environmental potential and ethnological and cultural heritage \u2013 has made Sierra de Guara a truly emblematic place.<\/p>\n

Its abrupt terrain, sculpted by a large network of untamed crystal-clear waters, greets the many visitors who come here all year round to enjoy different leisure activities and adventure sports.<\/p>\n

However, Sierra de Guara is not only about beauty; it\u2019s also about challenges. The abrupt terrain offers many vertical rock walls and cliffs, challenges that are the dream of climbers of all ages.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by professional guides, visitors descend narrow ravine and work their way around all sorts of natural obstacles with wild crystal-clear waters as their inseparable companions. Great excitement is to be found in a wild and unspoilt setting that can only be reached this way.<\/p>\n

Few places in the world have as many gorges and ravines as the Sierra de Guara, which is why it is known as the European canyoning capital.<\/p>\n

Levantine Spanish and schematic rock art are the forms best represented in Sierra de Guara. These are paintings made by hunters portraying hunting scenes.<\/p>\n
